WHAT WE LOVE

The fair has its origins in 1925, when a row of wooden booths of about 15 square meters were installed that at the time had no light or heating and where books could be purchased for just 15 cents, which is why the Writer Ramón Gómez de la Serna called it the "Boquerón Fair", referring to the price for which you could have an aperitif.

Currently, there are 30 booths run by children or grandchildren of the founders of the fair (since September 2023, booths 7, 18 and 23, which had been closed for a decade, are now operational again with the arrival of five new booksellers ). They have a very varied offer of books, from philosophy, literature, art, essays and even the purchase and sale of copies. In addition, you can find real curiosities, such as out-of-print volumes or old comics.

Two hundred meters, thirty booths and thousands of books. The numbers also have a place in the  Cuesta de Moyano  , which, since 1925, has been one of the great literary references of Madrid. An open-air market, with a lot of charm and a lot of history, which we now visit.

The bookshops are closed from 1.30pm - 4.30pm daily.
